1968 Chevrolet Corvette

1968 Corvette L36 427 coupe in unrestored condition. This outstanding vette was purchased new at Roberts and Redfields in Portland Oregon and has had only 31,354 miles put on her since new. The original Lemans Blue paint still shows very well for its age. It does have some imperfections as you would imagine being 40+ years old, but they are few and minor. This car has never been in an accident and retains all of its original body panels. The Interior is still in as new condition with the exception of one small crack in the console from elbow pressure. All of the gauges, interior and exterior lights, windshield wipers, and fiberoptics are in good working order. AM FM radio does not work. Car was optioned with power steering, brakes, windows, and telescopic steering wheel. All of the 5 ralley rims are original to the car and of course all of the dates match. Owner believes tires to be original but I am not sure...They definitely are not reproduction redline tires. This cars undercarriage is very clean and the frame is rust free. Closer inspection reveals many of the original Factory markings. The potent L36 390hp 427 runs seamlessly and has never been out of the car. The same goes for Turbo 400 automatic transmission. Rear end is the original 3.08 gear ratio heavy Duty Posi-traction. All of the chrome is original and in great shape. The windows are original and scar free with the exception of one small 3/4" scratch on the passenger window. Original windshield is chip free. This car was very prized and well cared for since new, as evidenced by both the condition of the car and the documentation that comes with it. The original order form states in one area, " customer is particular about the paint quality and exterior should be as smooth as possible and the paint job to their highest standard." This Vette time capsule comes with all of the original sales receipts, cancelled checks, owner manuals with protecto plate, and pictures from 1968 and later. I personally removed the tank sticker last month and all of the important parts are legible. This car was showed once by NCRS judges and accordingly received a Top Flight award. This car is so original that it would be easier to mention the non original parts which are to the best of my knowledge as follows: Master Cylinder, Calipers, windshield wiper motor, fan shroud(although the damaged original comes with it) , fuel pump(original comes with...just started leaking), and radiator cap. This car runs and drives great with no problems other than on a bumpy road the original spiral shocks rattle a bit. (Iwould replace them for road use and re-install for shows) It is has truly been a pleasure to own and drive.
