1966 Mustang Fastback K Code

1966 Mustang K code 289 Hi Po Fastback that had one owner until 2002 when she was forced to stop driving by her family. Original Paint, interior, and drivetrain. Documented with original window sticker, owners manual, almost every registration including "New Car" registration, original plates, license plate frames, ownercard, and assorted receipts. Rare original color of vintage Burgundy. Optioned as a heater delete per the window sticker although it had a stock heater installed at some point. Appears to have been a radio delete but it does not mention it on the window sticker. An under dash radio was installed at some point that I removed. It still has door speakers and an antenna installed in the front passenger fender. This was her "Race Car" , she had nicknamed it "The Bomb" as noted on many of the registration envelopes. Inj addition to this car she had a 67 and 68 mustang(both bought new) (I know this because i have tons of paperwork to those cars that came with this car when I bought it.) Previous owner had the car since 2003 and did little with it except take it out on weekends. He told me she used to take it to the dragstrip and race it around town (Santa Barbara, CA) I learned from the paperwork that her dad was a doctor. Apparantly she became too old to drive and was forced to park the car in 2002. I was told the handful of minor dents on the car were from the last year of her driving it. All original Paint that had some touch ups from chips but never any bodywork performed. Very straight car with the exception of the handful of dents, most of which could be removed by my paintless dent repair guy. This car retains all of its original panels and is rust free with the exception of a very small amount of rust around one of the trunk plugs(very minor and pictured below.) Rear wheel well lips were bent in on the inside for a larger tire at some point, but the opening was not modified and could be easily reversed.(nothing was cut or trimmed.) The passenger side door has a few extra mirror holes that will need to be filled. All of the glass is original and in very good shape, the windshield has hardly any road rash. The interior is original and in pretty good shape for its age. Front drivers seat has a small split, the rest of the seats are nice. The glue on the door panels has pulled away from the vinyl distorting them a bit. Headliner, dash pad, and visors are excellent. Carpet has a few wear holes and is faded in areas. All gauges work including the "Rotunda" tach that was added when the car was new. Harness style seat belt and fire extinguisher were also added when the car was new. This car runs excellent and is very fast. Transmission is in need of a rebuild, you can drive it but it acts funny sometimes. (slips, shifts erradically, especially when hot) Brakes work great, fronts were just redone. This car has custom headers and exhaust as well as a Shelby intake marked "S2MS 9424A." All original drivetrain including Carb and distributor. Carb base marked "6Z F" Tag C6ZF F." Alternator Marked "15v 60A D7AF 10300 CA." Distributor marked " C50F 12127 E." Block Dated "5H24" "C5AE-6015E." Trans Marked "PCW BA 289 5H10 B2." Rear end dated "5H11" .(3.50 posi gear) Production date of car was September 30, 1965 in Los Angeles. Styled steel wheels are original to the car. All of the lights work, windows roll up and down with ease, doors shut like the car was brand new. Very Rare optioned K Code mustang in amazing original condition. This car would be an Easy restoration or fix the transmission and enjoy AS-IS.
