1963 Lincoln Convertible
1963 Lincoln Continental suicide door Convertible. Bought new in Scottsdale Arizona by the gentleman who owned Rosenzweigs Jewelers. (Still has the original keychain of their 75th anniversary in 1972 w/ original keys for the car) I purchased this car from the second owner who has cared for this car since 1983. 88,000 original miles and less than 2500 miles on engine and transmission rebuild. This car has never had any rust whatsoever. No evidence of major body damage anywhere on this car. The undercarriage remains as original. The only undercoating on the car was factory applied. Where there is no undercoating underneath you can still see the red oxide primer, no rust. Many of the factory paint markings are visible on the driveshaft, leaf springs, rear end, etc. This car was repainted with DuPont Centari the correct original color "Green Velvet Metallic" around 15 years ago. It was a nice quality job and I would rate it as average. I'm sure there are some light scratches here and there on the car considering its age, but nothing that stands out. Seats were recovered at he same time along with the carpet. Both are correct colors and patterns. Door panels are original and in good shape. Dash has no cracks whatsoever, bezels and gauges are very nice and original. Woodgrain steering wheel is like new condition. No pits in any of the chrome which is also original. Stainless is also very nice, but both the chrome and stainless have some light scratches from age. (very minor) Front bumber has a 1 inch scuff on the Driver side. All glass is excellent, no chips in the windshield. Stainless side window frames are in great original shape. Back plastic top window has scratches as they all do. Top was replaced at some point and is in great shape. We installed a new hydraulic pump motor for the top. Goes up and down flawlessly and all locks work great. Power windows all work excellent as well as the power Vent windows. Power door locks work. All gauges perform flawlessly as well as the tailights, headlights, all 4 courtesy lights, etc. Radio even works. Wipers work great as well as the AC/ Heat. Power Brakes were rebuilt by the previous owner and feel excellent. Power steering makes the car handle with ease. We installed Brand new Firestone 9.50 14 wide Whitewall tires, new reproductions of the exact tire this car would have come with from the factory. Surely one of the nicest original lincolns I have come across, a beautiful car that is ready to enjoy. Cruises like it is on air.. Hard to beat the luxury of a Lincoln.
