Amazingly preserved 1948 UL 74cu in Harley Davidson. Same owner for the last 25 years. This is the last year for the 74in flathead and the first year for the wishbone frame. All original Sheetmetal was repainted 30+ years ago and is showing wear. Frame is unmolested and in amazing condition, even underneath where they usually get scuffed and dented. Matching cases engine with no repairs visible. Engine had been rebuilt many years ago, but just received a fresh top end less than 500 miles ago. Correct 3 speed w/ reverse transmission. Very cool original saddlebags and buddy seat. Buckhorn bars with original red grips. (The Palmer book says that they were an option in 48but i am not sure, either way they are a correct era acces.) (the mounts have an HD part # on them) Tires are NOS, not reproduction with about 3,000 miles on them (very nice, no cracks.) The list of correct original parts on this survivor bike would be huge, so I’ll note the non original parts. Speedo is from 55-6 harley, muffler is a 1950 and later model, one fin is broke off on the rear head, front pipe is dinged up in the front. Original horn makes a noise when the button is pushed but something is wrong with it. Original spots work great as well as all the other lights. This is a one kick bike that runs and rides flawlessly.
